FULL DAY ADVENTURE: CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES – CUSCO
Today is the day — Machu Picchu awaits!
We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 am and drive in our private van to Ollantaytambo Train Station, where you board the 6:10 am Expedition Train. (If you prefer to start in Ollantaytambo, we’ll pick you up from your hotel between 5:20 am – 5:30 am).
Your journey begins with a scenic ride through the Vilcanota River Canyon. Towering canyon walls covered in lush subtropical jungle surround you, and across the river you can spot ancient Inca terraces — some still cultivated today!
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your guide will meet you at the train station. You’ll have a short break to grab a snack before boarding the shuttle bus to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. Here, you’ll enjoy a two-hour guided tour through the most important sectors of this mystical site — agricultural, residential, and religious — while taking in breathtaking views and fascinating history.
After exploring, return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). Depending on your train schedule, you may also have time to shop, stroll through town, visit the local museum, or relax in the hot springs.
In the afternoon, board the Expedition Train back to Ollantaytambo at 3:20 pm, 4:22 pm, 4:43 pm, or 6:20 pm (depending on availability). On the way, admire the dramatic Urubamba River, its whitewater rapids, and even a glimpse of Wiñay Wayna high on the canyon wall. Once in Ollantaytambo, your driver will be waiting to take you back to Cusco in our private vehicle. You’ll arrive at your hotel between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm, depending on your return train schedule.
